president noynoy's inauguration: i was there

it was a holiday..a perfect time to rest..but i chose to spend it with my girlfriend..it just happen that they (at pao) were required to attend the inauguration of our new president noynoy aquino..yeah, some may say it's a one i lifetime opportunity because it's history in the making..the son of ninoy and cory is now the president of the philippines..

i admit that i did not vote for him this last election but he's not in my last option..maybe i just have not seen him perform in philippine politics not until he's name has emerged when the liberal party decided to endorse him for the presidency..

7:30 am, june 30, 2010..we managed to get there thru mrt (P14 from gma) then transfer to LRT (free train from 7am to 4pm, so we waited for almost ten minutes for the free ride)..it's not a sunny day but the air is humid..the dark sky clouds is just holding the rain, i guess..walking on the wet grass..waiting..sitting..

it's not as festive as i expected..and the real program just started maybe 11 am..repeat performances..national anthem by charice..choir..speech..oathtaking..

the only thing that gave me the goosebumps was the confetti..the fall of the yellow confetti reminds me of philippine history..edsa revolution and the parting of late president cory..

12:30pm..at last the people dispersed..quirino grandstand is less a hundred thousand of people again..wandering..wondering what is in store for the filipinos for the next six years..a no "wang-wang" state??let us just wait and see who's the boss..but still i'm hoping for the best..promises are made..fingers crossed including my toes..he promised to serve us but let us be worth serving for also..
